Mary Queen of Reading is a small Library
located in downtown Reading Ohio
dedicated to Honoring our Most Blessed Lady, the Mother of God,
staffed by Volunteers every week day.
Many years ago two Catholic Nuns had a dream,
to build a shine to Our Blessed Mother.
During a pilgrimage to Fatima they met
Mr. Walter Paner and his wife Anita of Florida.
Mr. Paner still owned a building in Reading, Ohio.
Upon learning of the dream of these two Nuns
he offered his building to them.
Sisters Mary Roberts S.N.D. and Sister Barbara Louise S.N.D.
wanted a place where people could go to Pray and Meditate,
pray the Rosary, or read a book or watch a video.
Maybe enjoy a cup of coffee and just meet new friends and neighbors.
Mr Paner also had a dream; he wanted to find someway
to thank Our Lady of Fatima for the miraculous cure of his beloved wife,
who had been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
The Nuns design was to have a chapel on the first floor
where possibly Masses could be said on special occasions.
And to have a library on the second floor
where people could use the television
and view VCR tapes about Mary and Jesus.
The building was in need of many costly repairs.
A group of people, many of them in Reading,
took on the task of developing this building
into the Library of the Nun’s dreams.
Volunteers still maintain and run this Marian Shine
to keep it going on a daily basis,
promoting more and more devotion to Our Blessed Lady.
If you have time to spare – please share it with us.
Come and visit with us; come and pray with us; come and share with us.
We are also looking for financial support and assistance
to help defray the cost of supplies and maintaining the site.
